GMH Group Wins Libel Action in Belgian Court

The Belgian Court of Appeal has adjudicated in favour of Meat & Food International SA, its holding company General Mediterranean Holding SA and its fellow subsidiary Compagnie Internationale de Participations Bancaires et Financières SA Cipaf, in the libel action against two journalists who published what was considered to be defamatory in the Belgian journal "Le Soir Illustré" on 14 May 1997.

The Court has ordered the journalists to pay damages and held them liable for all court costs.
